Let it begin

Okay let us all remember the rules.

1. The $10.00 entry fee must be received no later than Thursday, January 1st 2009. You may mail it to my home address or give it to me in person. Jennifer Attaway will be serving as our accountant.

2. See an example of finding out what percentage you lost below*

3. Please do not forget to put every decimal you have. If you lost 3.045%, do not just put 3%. It may get pretty close some weeks and you want ever tenth or hundreth you can have to save you.

4. Remember, if you are the lowest percentage, you must put in money to the equivalent of the highest percentage.

Ex. Joe 3.045%
Carolyn 3.03%
Marge 2.98%
David 2.5%
Sharon 2%

Sharon would have to put in $3.05.
Everyone else would be in the clear until the next week.

5. You must post your percentage loss by Saturday, 11:59:59 PM
The first post will not be until Saturday, January 10, 2009.
The only exception will be the last post which will be due on Friday, May 1, 2009.
I do ask that each person puts their name with their percentage loss in the post so that when looking at it, we can see if everyone has posted or not. Ex. Sharon - 2%. I will be sending out an e-mail to everyone with the log in and password needed to post. Also, there is an e-mail account set up for this titled biggestloser2009@hotmail.com. If you ever have any questions, send them here please.

6. Sharon from the example above, would need to get her money to Jennifer via mail or person before the next weeks post. Either Jennifer or myself will be keeping a running total of percentages and money.

7. Remember, this is just a friendly competition to get us motivated to do what we have all wanted to do for so long. Good luck to all, I know that the results will be spectacular regardless of who wins. Oh an by the way, the winner will be requested to put a before and after photo up on the blog. Others may also but only the winner is required. Therefore, since we are all going into this with the mindset that we will be the winner, it would be wise that we all take a before and an after picture.

*Weight = 200
Lost = 2

2/200 = x/100

Cross multiply

200x = 200

Divide both sides by 200 and you get 1 = x

Your total percentage weight loss for that week would be 1%

At no time are you required to tell anyone what you weighed, or how much weight you lost. All you must put in is the percentage you lost. Do not forget to start with the current weight. Going along with the example above, the next week weight would have started with 198 pounds etc. You all either have or will soon have a college degree, I trust you are capable of doing this.
